The HomeSafe Model 2005 HS is equipped with all seven NOAA channels plus programmable specific geographic areas (SAME Technology) for reception of local weather reports, as well as bulletins for severe weather and hazardous conditions (i.e., fires, toxic chemical spills, earthquakes, radiation leaks, CIVIL EMERGENCIES, ACTS OF WAR, etc). In the event of severe weather or any other type of hazardous situation, an alert warning signal is broadcast by NOAA and the monitor's "alert" is automatically activated-sounding an alert siren and automatically turning on the weather broadcast radio and displaying the alert description. There is also an alert control jack to connect the monitor to other devices such as an external remote and hearing impaired accessories (sold separately). To add to its versatility, this durable, compact monitor fits easily anywhere and plugs into a standard 120 VAC outlet. A built-in jack permits powering the unit from any 12 VDC vehicle or boat. And, with its battery backup system, it even operates during a power outage or outdoors. This monitor comes with a mounting bracket to hang the monitor on a wall. This radio allows the customer to program up to 20 state/county codes and receive emergency weather alert broadcasts that notify you of weather warnings, watches, statements (about 30 different types) for only those areas. This programmable monitor is programmed at the Corporate Office and shipped directly to the customer eliminating the confusion associated with learning how to program this life saving device. There is no monthly monitoring fee; this informaiton is free to you 24 hours per day by The National Weather Service. Batteries are enclosed for battery backup capability. An external antenna may be purchased separately for fringe areas.
